HOT DRY SEASON PEAK, HIGH POTENTIAL OF FIRE & EXPLOSION
The summer heat is at its peak, so the danger of fire and explosion is increasing. Fire prevention and fighting work in residential areas, production and business establishment have many limitation and inadequacies, potentailly posing a high risk of unsafety in fire prevention and fighting.
From the mid-May until now, there have been many fires and explosions across the country causing serious property damage. The risk of fire and explosions during the hot season is even more unpredictable. In May 2022, there were 154 fires nationwide , killing ten people and injuring three people; property damage esimated at 33,23 billion VND.
In the past June, there have also been many fires and explosions across the country, typically:
+ On 2nd June 2022, a 500m2 footware warehouse burned in Binh Chanh Disrtrict, Ho Chi Minh city
+ On 13th June 2022, a fire suddenly occurred at factory no 2 of SCAVI Hue in Phong Dien Industrial zone, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province.
The leading cause of fire are failures of electrical systems and equipment, negligence and carelessness in using fire and heat sources, technical problems, and violations of fire prevention and fighting regulations on fire.
Be aware of the fire and explosion hazards for chemical warehouses, especially during the peak of this hot dry season. TK Chemical Co., Ltd has been carrying out many fire prevention and fighting measures:
+ Check the electrical system and use of electricity: The electrical system is safe, follows regulations, and there is no phenomenon of electrical problems or changes in the layout of the electrical system. Use electricity safety.
+ Check the use of fire and heat sources: It is forbidden to use fire and heat sources in the company. If necessary, seek advice from superiors. No fire and no smoking signs are hung in easy-to-see places.
+ Check the arrangement of supplies and goods, solutions to prevent fire and spread fire: Arrange supplies and goods neatly; Not encroach on forklift lanes; Not obscure fire protection equipment and signs indicating guide; Arrange solutions to prevent fire and prevent fire spread reasonably and by regulations.
+ Check the exits: The exits are clear and safe, there are no barriers to obstruct the escape when needed, and there are enough conditions for escape.
