What in-tank filtration means

Flo King sits directly inside the tank — no pipework is run outside it. Out-of-tank systems leak through corroded plumbing, loose clamps and worn seals; an in-tank unit simply has none of that pipework.

The unit hangs on the tank wall and needs no tools to install. Cartridges are changed by hand, without stopping the line. Keep it in one tank, or move it between tanks as a utility pump.

Solution is drawn in, pushed through the cartridge and returned to the tank — filtering and agitating at the same time.

Four jobs in one unit (4-in-1)

Pump

Run it without a cartridge to recirculate only. 1,500 – 19,000 litres per hour depending on the model.

Filter

Fit a cartridge and it removes dirt, particulates and sludge. No tools needed.

Agitate

Fit 45° or 90° elbows or a Kurt Tube sparger to the discharge port to direct the flow. It often replaces air agitation entirely.

Treat

Swap the cartridge for a carbon treatment device to remove organic contaminants such as brightener breakdown products — inside the tank.

Lab Series

up to 1,500 L/h

From a 2-litre beaker up to tanks of roughly 19–38 litres. For laboratory, prototype and small production work. Polypropylene, about 1.3 kg. Body lengths 2/3/4/6 in.

BX650

up to 2,400 L/h

For smaller tanks. 50 W (1/15 hp) TEFC motor. About 4 kg in CPVC. Body lengths 4/6/8/10 in.

BX1200

up to 4,500 L/h

The industry workhorse and the most widely used model. 60 W (1/12 hp). Takes only a 10 cm square of tank space. Body lengths 4–14 in.

BXL2500

up to 9,500 L/h

For tanks with limited overhead clearance. Belt drive with the motor inverted outside the tank, using only 5 cm above it. Body lengths 8–14 in.

BX3000

up to 11,500 L/h

Intermediate tanks, or aggressive agitation of smaller ones. 250 W (1/3 hp). Body lengths 8–20 in.

BX5000

up to 19,000 L/h

The largest model, for large tanks. 560 W (3/4 hp). Body lengths 8–20 in.

BXL5000

up to 19,000 L/h

The same flow as the BX5000 but belt driven with the motor outside the tank. Body lengths 8–14 in.

Cartridges

reusable / disposable

Permacore Magnum reusable cartridges and Poly-Spun disposables, plus carbon treatment devices.

※ All flow rates are maximum figures at 60 Hz. Vietnam runs at 50 Hz, so actual flow is about 18% lower (manufacturer's figure). Head pressure: about 3 m on the BX650, 3.6 m on the BX1200, and 8.2 m on the BXL2500 / BX3000 / BX5000 / BXL5000.

Construction and materials

BX1200 part names. Hand-loosen the filter screws, twist the cartridge in, and hand-tighten again.

Pump material is chosen to suit the solution.

Typical solutions

Plating baths (zinc, nickel, copper, chromium, gold, silver, tin and others), electroless nickel, electroless copper, anodising, acid pickling, alkaline cleaners, chromating, blackening, stainless steel electropolishing and post-anodising dye baths — most solutions found in a metal-finishing shop.
